Directions

While the main route of HWY 76 has all the fun attractions, it’s advised to take the routes around all that traffic. The yellow or red route is what you will want to take to avoid all that traffic. The map below shows where Shenanigans is located to the left. Google maps seems to be better than Garmin.

Yellow Route

COMING FROM HWY 65 HEADING NORTH:

EXIT MO-76/Main St. Turn left.

Stay in the left lane.

Turn left on Green Mountain Dr. 2.5 miles (Yellow Route) Between Price Chopper and McDonalds

Continue 2.8 miles to Shenanigans. Green Mountain Dr. becomes Keeter St. near the end.

Red Route

For people traveling through Springfield heading south to Branson Hwy 65. There is a road closure on the Ozark Mountain Highroad that we recommended. Road is expected to be closed until early May. Here is the current recommendation.

Driving south on Hwy 65.

Exit MO 76/Main St.

The exit ramp loops under W Main St, stay in the right lane which becomes an outside left turn lane.

Turn left on West Main St.

Move to the left lane before getting to the top of the hill.

Stay in the left lane when it splits at the top of the hill. W Main St. now becomes W 76 Country Blvd.

Stay on W 76 Country Blvd for 2.25 miles to Green Mountain Dr.

Turn left on Green Mountain Dr. Yellow Route (Between Price Chopper and McDonald’s)

Continue 2.8 miles to Shenanigans.

Green Mountain Dr. becomes Keeter St near the end.

We are ½ block past the stop sign at the end.

People are tempted to exit the freeway at Hwy 248/Shepherd of the Hills Expy. Most GPS systems will try to take you this way. The route is wonderful except for one very steep uphill near the end that has a stoplight at the top of it at the intersection of Shepherd of the Hills Expy and W 76 Country Blvd. You will get stopped at this light. It’s no fun trying to get an RV moving again once stopped at this light. Even small rigs will have difficulty.

Any questions, give us a call.

We look forward to your visit.

Tips for Calculating RV Travel Time and Navigating the Ozarks
A good rule of thumb is to calculate your trip’s driving time before hitting the road. Many experienced truckers and RVers estimate an average speed of 48 MPH, or they add 15–30 minutes to each hour of driving time to account for potential delays. Keep in mind, this does not include stops for refueling, meals, restroom breaks, blown tires, or other unexpected interruptions.

When navigating the Ozark Mountains, preparation is key. It’s recommended to stick to well-traveled highways and avoid backroads with hairpin turns, as they can be challenging and even dangerous for big rigs. These winding roads can also be nauseating for passengers.

The steep hills of the Ozarks often slow larger rigs during climbs, so plan accordingly. Be vigilant when descending—keep an eye on your brakes and braking system to ensure a safe journey down those steep grades.

By planning ahead and choosing safer routes, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Ozarks without unnecessary stress.
